Parks n Wrecked Podcast Logo

Listen to “Storied Past, Bright Future” on Spreaker.

Leslie wants to introduce a new slogan for the merger of Pawnee and Eagleton, yet those wacky citizens are voting for joke answers.

Meanwhile, Donna and April are helping Tom find a location for his Tom’s Bistro idea, yet they keep stumbling upon terrible places. And Andy learns a secret about Ron Swanson.

Plus, Sean is drunk and playing Street Fighter, we discuss if Texas treasure Buc-ees is overrated, whether roulette is the silliest game you can play while at a casino, and the excitement that comes from exercising your right to vote. And subscribe to Crisp Bounce Pass!

Ep. 111: Somebody Follow Me, I’m Distraught!

Parks n Wrecked Podcast Logo

Listen to “Somebody Follow Me, I'm Distraught!” on Spreaker.

Leslie tries to tear down a wall between Pawnee and Eagleton, only to unleash a swarm of bees that somehow only stings Eagletonians. And Jamm. There’s a lot of fighting going on in this episode, which may or may not inspire Sean’s top five.

Meanwhile, the Unity Concert is starting to come together! Tom and Ben team up to pitch an angel investor on Tom’s Bistro, a new business venture. Oh, and Ron and Diane had a child. He’d appreciate it if you’d keep quiet around him.

Plus, we explore old Kool-Aid and Hawaiian Punch commercials, dive into the Thomas the Tank Engine theme song, chat about the best and worst games on The Price is Right, and get critical of how many fans are watching college football games in person. In fact, we talk a LOT about sports this episode. Apologies if that’s not your jam (or Jamm), but hopefully it’s still great fun.

Ep. 98: Why Is Everyone Else So Bad At Eating?

Parks n Wrecked Logo - A podcast about Parks and Rec

Listen to “Why Is Everyone Else So Bad At Eating?” on Spreaker.

Pawnee is auditing Eagleton! The once-proud city is now…well, less proud. My, how the turntables have turned. There’s also a basketball game happening, featuring a then-29-year-old Chris Bosh playing as a high schooler. Ron is also trying to get off the grid and turns to Tom and Donna for help. Bet that’ll turn out great!

Meanwhile, Ann and April were hanging out together during this episode, for some reason. And they’re living it up in Bloomington, Indiana! If only we all could be so lucky.

Plus, the amazing names Kristen Bell’s characters have, the lasting impact of Penny Saver circulars, no one can say “Swarovsky,” excessive voting lines at the polls, and reminiscing about visiting colleges. What was your favorite campus tour?

Ep. 95: Are You Better Off?

Parks n Wrecked Logo - A podcast about Parks and Rec

Listen to “Are You Better Off?” on Spreaker.

It’s the Season 5 finale! Are you better off than the start of the show? Leslie’s trying to argue that Pawnee is, and name drops a bunch of great movies about dancing, like Honey and Step Up 2 The Streets. But the townsfolk aren’t having it. We get it—now if we want to start our day with a triple-decker pancake pizza, we have to go to the Paunch Burger 10 minutes away. And don’t tell me to not have that for breakfast, because I will NEVER consider that!

Meanwhile, Andy is carrying a pregnancy test around for this entire episode. Tom’s business is thriving and even has a potentially interested investor, but he’s still dating Mona Lisa, who is the wooooorst.

Plus our top Seattle attractions from T-Mobile Park to MoPOP, great moments on The Price is Right (including the time Manuela gave away a car), and whether or not the movie Shazam starring Sinbad actually exists.

We’ll have a super jam-packed bonus episode next week where we’ll probably answer that question again: Are you better off?

Ep. 75: Soda Taxes and Training Interns

Parks n Wrecked Logo - A podcast about Parks and Rec

Listen to “Soda Taxes and Training Interns” on Spreaker.

Leslie wants to introduce a soda tax on the ABSURDLY large cups that Sweetums is selling to people. Across the country in Washington, D.C. Ben Wyatt tries to earn the respect of his interns. But first, he has to win over someone near and dear to his heart. While all of that’s going on, Tom and Chris try to get Andy into tip-top shape to join the police force. Andy runs a lot and it gets us winded.

Meanwhile, Sean is in incredible pain from all of the sports he’s been playing recently, we briefly talk about our favorite Oscars films (despite only seeing between 11 and 22 percent of the nominations), and we dissect the wonderful meme of Rob Lowe wearing a hat with the NFL logo on it. Joey also goes on a passionate rant against Apple despite having way too many Apple products, but the rant is only for like 30 seconds. Sorry, Siri.

After we recorded this episode, Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and seven others were killed in a helicopter crash outside Los Angeles. We hopped on the phone to record an additional outro, sharing some of our favorite Kobe Bryant moments and what he accomplished with basketball, business, and storytelling. If you haven’t seen his Oscar-winning Dear Basketball short, we’d highly recommend it.

Ep. 61: Bobby Newport and the Ad Campaign

Parks n Wrecked Logo - A podcast about Parks and Rec

Listen to “Bobby Newport and the Ad Campaign” on Spreaker.

Leslie Knope needs to make a new campaign ad – but Bobby Newport stands in her way. Kind of. Will the team go with Leslie’s kind ad or Ben Wyatt’s smear campaign? Meanwhile, Andy and April just learned about health insurance and are trying to get tested for every disease.

We also run through our defining Paul Rudd movies, alternate Twix flavors from childhood, Joey’s Kentucky Derby adventures, and people using service dogs while grocery shopping. Plus we follow up on a controversial subject from a couple of episodes ago. Hop on in!

Ep. 58: I Hold Myself In Contempt!

Parks n Wrecked Logo - A podcast about Parks and Rec

Listen to “I Hold Myself In Contempt!” on Spreaker.

Leslie Knope is ON TRIAL. What for? Well, you’ll have to tune in to find out. Plus we’re chatting about the wonders of Google Earth, get a bit nostalgic with Matchbox Twenty, the many unethical things going on during this episode, Sean’s super old laptop, being punished via caning or a belt, how many songs are about candy, and Sean’s extreme love/hate affair with football. On a related note, one of Joey’s doppelgangers recently retired from the NFL and now he’s sad.

This episode also has arguably the best cold open of the entire series. Here it is. Tell us you disagree (you cannot). Oh yeah, and Sean doesn’t even know what Citizen Kane is! What has he been doing with his life?

Plus, which donut is best, the magic of Toy Story 4, how Sean made some new friends at the grocery store, and he shares a really crappy story from his parks and rec world.

Listen to “Can Freddy Spaghetti Save the Government?” on Spreaker.

We’re wrapping up Season 2 with mega excitement. Austin City Council Member Jimmy Flannigan – who the Austin Chronicle once called “Austin’s Leslie Knope” – joins us right in the middle of a government shutdown for a jam-packed episode. Leslie has a plan to save the government: Freddy Spaghetti, whose noodle-themed songs are just what Pawnee needs. We also discuss our misadventures with wine tasting, what to do when people think you’re looking at them funny, and Jimmy shares some of his stories from his time on City Council. It’s the perfect way to say goodbye to season two.

Ep. 30: Literally the Most Exciting Episode Yet!

Parks n Wrecked Logo - A podcast about Parks and Rec

Listen to “Literally the Most Exciting Episode Yet!” on Spreaker.

We meet SO many new people this episode. Chris Traeger. Ben Wyatt. Lucy Last Name to Be Determined. And two of them are working to trim the fat of the parks department. Ron is giddy with glee, but Leslie won’t take this lying down. Neither will we. We chat about people being rude, the rules for dating people younger than you, and introduce Sean to Flat Stanley. We also finally go over our Super Bowl prop bets. It’s more exciting than that game was, that’s for sure.

And we’re still treating ourselves! here’s something SUPER cool for our Austin friends: we’ve partnered with Wild Chix and Waffles on their Galentine’s Day Menu.
