Ep. 96: I Wish This Office Was Just Walls

Parks n Wrecked Logo - A podcast about Parks and Rec

Listen to “I Wish This Office Was Just Walls” on Spreaker.

We’ve wrapped up Season 5 so that means it’s time for a bonus episode! We’re recapping everything about the season, including some of our favorite new characters, whether Ron will be a good father, (our money is on OF COURSE), what a Parks and Rec video game would look like, and we take a “Which Parks and Rec Character Are You?” quiz.

Plus, Sean talks about his rec center closing down for a week before opening as a voting site and the disappointment it’s brought among the community. We’re going off on plenty of tangents, too. We dive into Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, The Price is Right, the joys of having inbox zero at work, playing the lottery at a gas station, and a guest star from the early days of Parks n Wrecked is getting married.

Take the character quiz here!

Watch the video from the ’96 Summer Olympics that Sean talks about!

Ep. 94: More Like Who Am I Doing?

Parks n Wrecked Logo - A podcast about Parks and Rec

Listen to “More Like Who Am I Doing?” on Spreaker.

There’s a big vote to be had, which means it’s time for Putt Putt! Leslie and Ron face off in a battle for Councilman Jamm’s vote – and this episode features a special guest appearance from Esther Povitsky, Joey’s childhood friend!

Meanwhile, Tom and Ann are both trying to break up with Mona Lisa (as a boyfriend and friend, respectively), but only one is successful. Who could it be? Andy is also kicked out of Mouse Rat. Kind of. Maybe he should start going to practices.

Plus, Sean has some choice words for Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Joey talks about very close calls with band members not showing up, and we talk about the most famous people we know. It’s a great thing we’re doing here. Or more like who am I doing, amirite?

Ep. 91: Eddie, Get My Crossbow

Parks n Wrecked Logo - A podcast about Parks and Rec

Listen to “Eddie, Get My Crossbow” on Spreaker.

Eddie, get my crossbow! So many fantastic guest appearances in this episode. Harris Wittels and Colton Dunn are here as Harris and Brad from Animal Control, AND we get Dennis Feinstein, played masterfully by Jason Mantzoukas. Even Eric Isenhower shows up as Orin – with a speaking part!

Ben, Tom, and Andy have some mighty sucking up to do to raise money for charities, while Chris injures one of his running feet. Leslie, Chris, and Ann interview potential new Animal Control candidates, and Jerry negotiates a lower salary for his current job. Magnificent.

Ron is also very sick and has to eat a banana. Who will emerge from this royal rumble showdown?!

Plus, Sean tries to play ultimate frisbee for the first time in a hot minute and struggles mightily, we dive into railway workers and the phrase “Gandy dancer,” and we talk about having to dress up during game days in high school. Oh, and please visit the Wikipedia page for high fives.

Ep. 90: Skim Milk is Water That’s Lying About Being Milk

Parks n Wrecked Logo - A podcast about Parks and Rec

Listen to “Skim Milk is Water That's Lying About Being Milk” on Spreaker.

Ben ruined the city of Partridge, MN when he was 18 years old, but now they’re ready to forgive him. Surely this isn’t a trap. Meanwhile, Councilman Jamm is suing Ron for punching him in the face during Leslie’s wedding. And guess what? Ron would do it again if he has the chance.

Also, Chris and Ann are distraught after a series of mishaps. Could this mean they won’t be good parents? We’ll find out by the end of the episode.

Plus, we’ve got excessive beards, activities to do on a boat, and Ben gets misty-eyed watching The Price Is Right! We’re not so different, after all.

Ep. 82: Little Ditty About Ron and Diane

Parks n Wrecked Logo - A podcast about Parks and Rec

Listen to “Little Ditty About Ron and Diane” on Spreaker.

This is one of the finest episodes of Parks and Rec but probably not one of our finest podcast episodes. But we’ll let you be the judge of that, eh? Jerry’s hosting a dinner party and the people that are usually the meanest to him haven’t been invited. Leslie, Ron, and Diane try to avoid the madness that is Tammy 2 at a woodworking awards banquet. Shenanigans ensue, including a lot of flashing and a fight in a dumpster. Meanwhile, Chris is drinking FULL FAT eggnog. What is he thinking?

We also talk about some delightful video games that feature soccer elements like Rocket League, Crazy Taxi 2, and Excitebike. Plus, the weird ways to spell Haleigh and the introduction of Jerry’s family! And Duke Silver makes another appearance! What lucky ducks we are.

Ep. 76: Pawnee Porpoises and Therapy Sessions

Parks n Wrecked Logo - A podcast about Parks and Rec

Listen to “Pawnee Porpoises and Therapy Sessions” on Spreaker.

Leslie is trying to keep a pool open for the Pawnee Porpoises youth swim team, but she has to jump through quite a few hoops to make it happen. Classic Jeremy Jamm ruining our plans. Ben and April are stuck in a parking garage for the entire episode. Ron goes on a date with a woman that’s not named Tammy. WHAT?! Chris Traeger has a therapist now, so that means the parks department has to install a 3-1-1 line? Look, this part of the plot doesn’t really make sense, but here we are.

Sean is MAD this episode. Why? Because it illustrates everything that’s wrong with BIG POLITICS. But he sure is impressed by Leslie’s perm. Plus we reminisce about our first encounters with smoking cigars. Much like Tom, we did not like them.

Ep. 73: A Season for the Ages

Parks n Wrecked Logo - A podcast about Parks and Rec

Listen to “A Season for the Ages” on Spreaker.

Season 4 is in the books! Sean gives a recap of the season, including some of his favorite moments, as well as his least favorite moments (spoiler: it’s anytime Tom and Ann are dating). Then we turn the tables and run him over with an AMA, where we pepper him with all the questions. Find out things like what’s happened with Sean’s enemy that keeps coming into his job, his greatest accomplishments at work, when he let a bunch of children run rampant all over the place, and a heartwarming moment that will make you smile. And we could all use a little more of those warm and fuzzy feelings, you know?

Sean also makes his prediction for Season 5, plus next week’s episode, “Ms. Knope Goes to Washington.” Will he be spot on or is he just a big dreamer? We’ll find out next time!

Ep. 69: Is Leslie Knope a Dog Murderer?

Parks n Wrecked Logo - A podcast about Parks and Rec

Listen to “Is Leslie Knope a Dog Murderer?” on Spreaker.

What a nice episode! The crew is recovering from all that Thanksgiving goodness, though there aren’t any turkeys on this episode. Unless you count your hosts, heyo! Jen Barkley is back and she’s accusing Leslie of being a dog murderer. To avoid that terrible accusation, Leslie adopts MANY pets from the shelter. And that means we’re having a puppy party at the park! Meanwhile, Chris and Ron go to meditate next to a Greek restaurant with the perfect name: Achilles Meal.

Plus, Sean has finally tried White Claw. Is he as obsessed as everyone else? We’ve also mentioned Peanut Butter Twix many times on this podcast, but Haleigh and Sean have never tried it (and Joey hasn’t tasted it in, like, 18 years). Sounds like the perfect time for a live on-air taste test! ASMR fans will LOVE this one. Finally, we have an update on Sean’s enemy at work!

Ep. 62: Gutterballs and Breakups

Parks n Wrecked Logo - A podcast about Parks and Rec

Listen to “Gutterballs and Breakups” on Spreaker.

We’ve got a classic Parks and Rec episode! Half the gang goes bowling while the other half cold calls people for donations. Leslie inadvertently sabotages her own campaign, Tom unleashes an unorthodox bowling technique, and Chris Traeger goes from super excited to super sad in a matter of minutes. We also learn how tall most of the cast of Parks and Rec is – they’re a short bunch!

Plus, we discuss the growing popularity of pickleball, the excitement of doing focus groups, and Haleigh’s skill at doing the limbo.

There’s also a BRAND NEW TRIVIA format for Parks n Wrecked. As you may expect, the anticipation is palpable. Let’s dive on in!

Ep. 58: I Hold Myself In Contempt!

Parks n Wrecked Logo - A podcast about Parks and Rec

Listen to “I Hold Myself In Contempt!” on Spreaker.

Leslie Knope is ON TRIAL. What for? Well, you’ll have to tune in to find out. Plus we’re chatting about the wonders of Google Earth, get a bit nostalgic with Matchbox Twenty, the many unethical things going on during this episode, Sean’s super old laptop, being punished via caning or a belt, how many songs are about candy, and Sean’s extreme love/hate affair with football. On a related note, one of Joey’s doppelgangers recently retired from the NFL and now he’s sad.

This episode also has arguably the best cold open of the entire series. Here it is. Tell us you disagree (you cannot). Oh yeah, and Sean doesn’t even know what Citizen Kane is! What has he been doing with his life?
